How the math speed test works

Type the answer and it moves on by itself when it is right. If you get one wrong, press Enter to go to the next question. When the time runs out you see your score, how many you got right, how long each answer took and the exact facts you missed.

Nothing is sent anywhere. Scores stay in this browser, so there is no account and nothing to sign up for.

How to get faster

  • Practise a little every day. One or two minutes daily beats one long session a week.
  • Work on the facts the results list as missed, not the ones you already know.
  • Learn facts in families: 3 + 4 = 7, 7 − 4 = 3 and 4 × 3 = 12, 12 ÷ 3 = 4 belong together.
  • Go for accuracy first. Speed comes once the facts are remembered, not worked out.
